Beginnings

Lani’s mother, Deanna, started her own electrolysis business back in 1975, where she rented a tiny one-room office with a waiting room divided by a curtain for privacy. Deanna’s electrolysis business was thriving and growing rapidly and Deanna asked Lani if she would like to join her and become an electrologist. Lani had a strong feeling that it was the right thing to do, so she attended the Arizona Institute of Electrolysis in Mesa, received her certification in 1992, and then joined her mom in her business.

In 1992, the mother/daughter duo moved to a larger building in Tempe. While working alongside her mother, Lani began building her clients. Over time, the small electrolysis business grew into the full, successful medspa that it is today and now offers services such as laser hair and vein removal, permanent cosmetics, laser skin resurfacing, aesthetic services, skincare, makeup, and massage.

Lani’s mother has since retired from the business, but her mom’s strong work ethic and integrity carries on. Lani is compassionate, instills trust in her clients, and loves making people feel confident and good about themselves. She enjoys the lifelong relationships she has built with her clients.

Meet Lani

OWNER & OPERATOR

Lani is a native of Arizona. She grew up in the Valley before going to Arizona State University to pursue her passion for the arts. Lani graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drawing and painting. She then went on to get her Master of Fine Art degree at Utah State University. Afterwards, she spent a number of years teaching at various colleges and universities in subjects such as humanities, drawing, and painting until her mom asked her for some help with her electrolysis business.

After getting her certification in electrolysis in 1992 from the Arizona Institute of Electrolysis, Lani joined her mom in her business. It was there that Lani discovered her second passion: being an electrologist. Lani’s mother, Deanna, expanded on the training Lani received in school while working alongside her. Deanna’s guidance and mentoring, in conjunction with Lani’s steady hand and eye for detail that she developed through her fine art training, have combined to turn Lani into an exceptional electrologist. She has now been in the industry for over 29 years, and she loves every minute of it.

Lani has continued to receive training and certifications as she has expanded the business into other areas. She obtained her CLT and LSO certifications when she bought her first laser in 1993 and started performing laser hair removal. She also obtained her PM certification when she began performing permanent makeup.

Lani is an established artist who continues to use her artistic ability creating beautiful drawings, ceramic masks, and making and selling her jewelry. Her fine arts training, eye for detail, and steady hand have made her an exceptional electrologist. She’s always looking for new, current technologies to improve long-lasting, visual results for her clients.

Lani took that business to a whole new level of a med spa and expanded it to laser, massage, facials, cosmetics and specialty skin care from photo facials to microdermabrasion to micro-needling, keeping up with the state of the art and the latest and greatest innovations in skin care.

I could go to any place I want but the reason I go to Lani is not because she is close to my house, or has a physician on call. Nor is it because she has the latest and greatest technology and keeps up on aesthetics; but because she truly cares about me! She will take every precaution to make sure I am safe, and I feel I am in excellent professional hands. She is personable and makes sure that I'm comfortable with the process and will come up with suggestions to improve my health and beauty needs with techniques and strategies that I never even thought about or considered possible. She is not only great at what she does, but is exceptionally knowledgeable. Her true nature is artistry which shines through everything she touches.

I am so grateful to have Lani, a true artist, fulfilling all my aesthetic needs. I think I feel/look better, am much happier and I age more gracefully because of Lani!
