The Fotona Nd:YAG 1064 (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) laser operates at a 1064 nm wavelength, which penetrates deeper into the skin compared to shorter-wavelength lasers. This makes it ideal for targeting structures in the dermis and deeper vasculature while minimizing absorption in epidermal melanin, ensuring safety across all Fitzpatrick skin types.
